spah-thumbSPAH is an international non-profit organization founded in 1963 by a small group of visionary harmonica enthusiasts who were passionate about the instrument and about its relevance to contemporary and future music.

Its members hail from the far reaches of the globe and span the full spectrum of ability from the best in the world to newly minted players. Member musicians play all styles and music and types of harmonicas.

The organization's core membership was aging and new membership numbers were dwindling.  Under President Tom Stryker's leadership, the board of directors committed to grow the organizaiton and to revitalize interest among younger musicians.

spah.org is an integral part of that outreach program. The site's goal is to build upon SPAH's successes and connect the organization and instrument to the next generation.

At it's core SPAH is a social organization. The original model focused mostly on its annual convention. People are connecting in new ways now and the site's redesign's goals are to support SPAH's mission to inform the world about the rich heritage of harmonica music, the many talented musicians currently making music with this phenomenal instrument, and the great pleasure to be derived from learning to play the harmonica.

MojoTools Interactive Principal Bob Cohen is avid blues singer and harmonica player whose enthusiasm for music exceeds his talent but not his desire to contribute.  MojoTools Interactive has become a sponsor of SPAH. We provide the web site, hosting, and Internet marketing consulting to the organization.
